“Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place,” Jesus said, and immediately John was transported in vision to God’s throne room! What he saw was fantastic: living creatures that almost defy description, a Lamb as strong as a lion, and a multitude of saints called the 144,000! If you’ve ever wondered what these things mean, then you won’t want to miss Pastor Kenneth Cox’s series, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, this month.

“We’ll be studying Revelation 4 through 12,” he says. “We’re calling these programs, ‘Revelations From God’s Throne,’ and I can’t think of a more important message for the followers of Christ living today!”

Watch these programs on 3ABN Channel 9393 on Dish Network or online streamming broadcast on 3ABN Television.

A Pastoral Nugget: Longer Days and Seeing More of the “Sun”

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

wintersolstice

Finally… with the passing of the Winter Solstice, the days are getting longer. Winter Solstice simply means the day the sun was at its lowest peak on the horizon, resulting in our area having the least exposure to the sun all year. But now, with the days getting longer, we’ll be seeing more and more of the sun and feeling its warmth.

There’s another way, an even better way, to warm up and see more of the sun this year… make that the “Sun of Righteousness” Malachi 4:2 “But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.” And we need to see more of this Son in our personal lives and character!

A couple of resources I would recommend to you so you can see Him more, and more clearly, would be a Bible (good translation) and, what I consider the greatest Bible Commentary series of all, the Conflict Series (Patriarchs and Prophets, Prophets and Kings, Desire of Ages, Acts of the Apostles, the Great Controversy). A profoundly helpful method of Bible study to enrich your walk with Jesus Christ is to read the corresponding chapters from the conflict series with your Bible. You will also need a yellow highlighter, a red pen, and another highlighter (colored pencils also work great as highlighters). As you read, highlight in yellow anything in the conflict series where God especially speaks to your heart. Underline in red any life changing eternal principles you find. Also highlight, with an alternate color, anything in the conflict series where you feel God is calling you to make a specific change in your life.

You may also want to record this in a prayer journal where you can chart your progress. God’s blessings as you take time to see more of the “Sun of Righteousness” in your day.

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

“It Is Written” will be holding evangelistic series in the city of Rome under the leadership of Pastor Evangelist Shawn Boonstra and the hard collaboration of church members in Italy.

“This series will be such a boost to all the hard working members, missionaries, pastors, and evangelists around the world. If it can be done in Rome, it can be done anywhere” writes the It Is Written’s evangelistic coordinator in Rome, Pastor Yves Monnier.

Pastor Yves Monnier comments about a few important facts about the preparation of these evangelistic series: Over the next two weeks, they will cover the city of Rome with advertising. At least 800,000 flyers are being distributed home-to-home by church members. Five radio stations will be running 30-second spots. Buses and subways will have posters plastered all over them. “It’s happening!”, he writes.

The meetings open on Saturday night, February 6, and close on Saturday night, March 6.  Through your prayers and support, the team in Rome will know that they are not alone and that they have the prayer and support of people all around the world.
